Arriving By Air

MONTROSE/TELLURIDE (MTJ) – This is the primary airport servicing the Telluride region with convenient shuttles to and from Telluride and Mountain Village. Airlines that fly into Montrose are American, Allegiant, Delta and United. The airport is 67 miles from Telluride, approximately a 1 hour 15 min drive.

TELLURIDE REGIONAL AIRPORT (TEX) – The highest commercial airport in the country, this boutique airport currently services flights from Denver multiple times/day operated by United. It is extremely convenient – just 5 miles from Telluride – a 5-10 minute drive away!

GRAND JUNCTION (GJT) – Just up the road from Montrose, Grand Junction is 127 miles from Telluride, approximately a 2 hour 15 min drive.

DURANGO (DRO) – Durango often has great prices when other regional airports do not, especially in the summer, so check it out. 125 miles from Telluride, approximately a 2 hour 15 min drive.
CORTEX (CEZ) – 71 miles from Telluride, approximately a 1 hour 20 min drive

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

FROM DENVER – Take Interstate 70 West to Grand Junction, go south on Route 50 to Montrose. Continue south on Route 550 to Ridgway and turn right onto Route 62. Follow this to Route 145 and turn left. Follow the signs into Telluride. Travel time – 7 hours.

FROM COLORADO SPRINGS– Take Route U.S. 24 West. Turn south on U.S. 285/24 and proceed to Route 50. Turn right on Route 50. Proceed over Monarch Pass onto Gunnison and finally Montrose. Turn left and drive south on Route 550 to Ridgeway and turn right onto Route 62. Follow this to Route 145 and turn left. Follow the signs into Telluride. Travel time – 6 hours.

FROM DURANGO – Follow Route 160 from Durango to Mancos. Turn right onto Route 184 towards Dolores. Turn Right onto Route 145 just south of Dolores. Follow 145 into Telluride. About 3 miles out of town, Route 145 will T. Turn right. Telluride is three more miles. Travel time – 2 hours 15 min.
