San Miguel County drops mask mandate, Mountain Village and town of Telluride follow suit….

Last week San Miguel County officials dropped the county wide mask mandate. Mountain Village immediately followed suit as did the town of Telluride on Friday. Currently, there’s only one active case in the county. Residents and guests celebrated immediately as social institutions like the Last Dollar Salon, Sheridan Bar and Oak were packed with people showcasing wide smiles and sharing long overdue laugh with friends and neighbors. Hopefully this trend can continue through the summer season.

The real estate market remains active, however lack of inventory and rising price points are proving to be a hurdler for interested buyers. Buyers who have been watching the market for a year or longer are now stuck with the reality that values have jumped 30-50% in some cases; that can be a tough pill to swallow for those who didn’t pull the trigger in the past with a purchase. Inventory is at historical lows. Town of Telluride, Mountain Village, Ski Ranches, Aldasoro and mesa property offerings are hard to come by, sometimes non-existent. Sellers continue to be in the driver’s seat and buyers must be ready to act quickly and decisively, plus cash continues to often times win-out over a loan terms.

Looking to summer actives, the Ski and Golf company will be opening their zip lines for the first time. From what I’m hearing, the course they have is quite impressive, with long spans that in some cases are 300+ feet above the ground. Continuing, new prices were recently announced for the very popular mountain bike flow trails. Season ski pass holders will get a discount on a summer season bike pass. Summer festival’s are getting back in the game also. Things will be fluid as promoters continue to deal with some pandemic regulations, but hopefully most of that is trending in the right direction. Mountain Film is this weekend (https://www.mountainfilm.org/festival), Blue Grass is right around the corner (https://bluegrass.com/telluride), as is the Telluride Yoga Festival https://www.tellurideyogafestival.com/).

Getting to Telluride has never been easier, with plenty options to choose from whether you get here directly from your destination or you arrive via Denver/Salt Lake City/Houston. Here’s the summer airline map for your benefit https://coloradoflights.org/schedule/).

Lastly, the golf course opens this holiday weekend. The course is looking in fine shape and ready for play. Whether the club will be 100% private this year or public play also available has yet to be announced. Get out and play!

That’s a quick update for now. As always, if I can assist with anything Telluride wise, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Whether a single family home, condo, vacant land or ranch, I’m here to assist how ever I can.
